Managing Reviews of the Report of Examination

The review process consists of a primary reviewer and optional additional and peer reviews. This section discusses how to manage the review process.

Process Overview

The report of examination (ROE) can either be sent for peer review or review. Peer review is when the ROE is sent for review to anyone on the exam. After the peer review process is complete, the examinart in charge (EIC) is responsible for marking the ROE complete.

When sending the ROE for review, it can only be sent to those who hold the Reviewer role in the system. If the EIC sends the ROE for review, then it is the user with the Reviewer role in the system that is responsible for marking the ROE complete.

Peer Review

Peer review is different from the review that often leads to an approval of the Report of Examination (ROE). Use of peer review is optional and can be used before a review process if desired.

Review

In the review process, the primary reviewer (a user with the Reviewer role in the system) is responsible for final approval of the report. If the Examiner in Charge (EIC) wants to retain the ability to make the approval decision, then the ROE should only be sent for peer review.

Note: Once the report is marked complete, no further changes can be made to the report. If multiple reviewers need to review the report, add all the necessary reviewers at one time.
