SES Implementation Jumpstart Optional Action 4

Develop your industry and company communication plan.

About this task

Last updated: 2020-04-301

It will be important for your agency to communicate with the industries and companies you plan to supervise in SES about the change to this new system, well in advance of an examination or other supervisory activity in SES. CSBS has prepared a package of templates and resources to assist you in that communication, which will be provided to you during the formal onboarding process. For now, and until you have a firm sense of when your examinations will begin in SES, we recommend developing a plan for this communication. This way, the plan can be set in motion once exam start dates are known.

Procedure

  1. Start thinking about the industry types that will be examined first in the system (e.g. mortgage, MSB, consumer finance, etc.) and the companies within that industry.
  2. Determine whether you have the right industry and company contacts to whom the SES communication and resources should be sent.
  3. Consider how far in advance you would like to communicate with the company about SES (we recommend that agencies send the standard communication and resources to companies at least three weeks before the start of the examination in the system)
1 This document lists optional actions and instructions state agencies can perform now prior to the SES formal implementation process, comprised by onboarding and training. Working on these options ahead of time will enhance your implementation process and make certain agency-specific features in the system readily available to you during the onboarding process. Please note that completing any of the options below does not guarantee that the agency will get early access to the system or that the agency will start the formal implementation system earlier than planned.
