What happens when the agency closes the
complaint.
Once the agency closes a complaint, the status changes from "Open" to "Closed." If the agency
provided any comments or documentation when closing the complaint, you can view them under the
"Closure Materials" tab for your complaint.
If warranted, the agency may reopen the closed complaint within one year of the closure date.
This may happen if the complaint was closed in error or the consumer comes back with more
information that they didn't have inititally.
