Third Party Users for SES Companies

Information about the third party user (TPU) role that can be assigned to a user (external to the company) that is enlisted for assistance with supervisory activities (SAs) or consumer complaints (e.g., outside counsel, contractors, or consultants).

Third Party User Role Description

SES allows company users to add a trusted Third Party User (TPU) to the company account for the purposes of participating on certain supervisory activities. TPUs are external to the company (i.e, not direct employees of the company that is the subject of an SA or consumer complaint in SES).

Adding a Third Party User to a Supervisory Activity

The overall process for creating a TPU and adding them to an SA is detailed below. See the Managing Third Party Users on a Supervisory Activity section for detailed steps on these processes.

  1. Your company's account administrator creates an SES account for the TPU and assigns them the Third Party User Role at the system level.

  2. The TPU receives SES notifications regarding their account creation and completes the account setup and initial login process.

  3. The company lead requests to add the TPU to an SA.
  4. The agency EIC reviews the request.
  5. If the request is approved, the company lead adds the TPU to an SA.

Third Party Users with the Secondary Company Lead Role

After adding a TPU to an SA, the company lead can assign a TPU the Secondary Company Lead role.

In this role, the TPU can take all the actions on a SA and transmit material to the agency EXCEPT for the following actions:

  • Respond to the Report of Examination
  • Request a Report Response Due Date Extension
A TPU cannot be assigned as the Primary Company Lead.

Third Party User Access to Supervisory Activities

TPUs are granted detail-level-access to only those SAs on which they are requested to be a participant and then added to as a participant.

Once the SA is closed and there are no outstanding Matters Requiring Attention (MRA) or when the last MRA is closed, the system automatically removes the third-party user as a participant from that SA. However, a company can remove the TPU from the SA at their discretion at any time prior to the SA being closed.
